WeHaventTheTime

There's always time for good design

About WHTT

WeHaventTheTime

Located in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, WeHaventTheTime is the banner under which designer/developer Eric Salczynski creatively operates. Sometimes working alone and sometimes working with other freelancers, WeHaventTheTime combines creativity, skill, and an appetite for destruction to deliver unique and high-quality websites and applications, print media, merchandise design, and whatever else they can get their dirty little fingers into.

In our opinion, each of our clients is the most important client we have*. We understand that - like snowflakes and puppy dogs - each project is different, and what works for one client isn't necessarily right for another. We don't offer cookie-cutter design templates - we provide custom solutions that are carefully designed specifically for you. We measure our success on how well you meet your goals for each project. And we believe honesty really is the best policy - as it's the only way to form a trusting relationship with our clients.

WeHaventTheTime was founded and built upon the principle that somehow, some way, we find the time to do it all and more. It would be easy to say, "We don't have the time for this," or "We just can't spare a minute for that." No matter how stretched for time we may be, there's never an excuse to say "WeHaventTheTime" for good design. Instead, we just do the job with controlled and somehow equally reckless abandon, with no regard for this imaginary restraint called "time."

The company was initially founded back in 2007 by Eric Salczynski, Christopher Thomas and Immanuel Mullen - whom Eric still regularly collaborates with. Christopher designed the original WHTT clock-with-no-hands logo. Immanuel originally had the most awesome hair.

* Yes, that sounds impossible, but we have some quantum physics literature that we'd be happy to share with you which proves it IS possible.

Eric Salczynski

Eric Salczynski - age 28 I'm a freelance designer/developer who can do it all. I do web, print, and logo design; I pride myself on producing semantic, valid, easy to read XHTML and CSS that is always cross-browser compatible without resorting to "hacking" the CSS; I program with Ruby on Rails, PHP and Javascript; I've worked with WordPress and MoveableType plugins and templates; I run all my database driven apps with MySQL; and I can slice and dice PSDs into valid XHTML/CSS like nobody's business.

My most notable accomplishment with WHTT was to create a Ruby on Rails based comparison database from the ground up for AnythingButiPod.com. Users can browse through and search hundreds of personal media players and compare them side-by-side. This application, in part, helped the site garner world-wide interest, which recently resulted in the sale of the site to Crowdgather, Inc. You can view the application at: http://www.anythingbutipod.com/compare.

My last long-term contract position was with Ruby on Rails developer, Assembla, LLC - who's entire staff is made up of distributed developers from around the globe. They offer a subscription service to their proprietary project management system. I not only contributed to the improvement of the user interface and workflow for key features like the issue ticketing system and built-in wiki, but I also worked closely with the president of the company, Andy Singleton, to develop a better marketing strategy for the site's sales related pages. The changes I helped implement have led to increased revenue for Assembla.

Additionally, I worked with smaller teams on several outside consulting jobs with Assembla. While working as the lead developer on several of these projects, it was my responsibility to interact with the project manager to handle the clients' requests, assign and complete programming and design tasks, test code changes and ensure that the team met all deadlines.

I currently volunteer at the Harrisburg Art Association; am an active member in the central PA design organization, Society of Design; and play bass for the pop-punk band, Hello Hawk.
