Design and Development Portfolio
Hello Hawk Band Website
Built on Ruby on Rails, the Hello Hawk website provides a custom content management system back-end to the band. They are able to make blog posts, manage their tour schedule, upload and manage songs for download, and easily edit the content of static pages.
Thanks to the concise, semantic markup, the page has been optimized to rank in the top search results for their chosen keywords.
Programming, markup and additional design by Eric Salczynski. Original design concept by Christopher Thomas.

Assembla Ruby on Rails Development
Making use of agile development methodologies and staffed by distributed developers from around the world, Assembla offers a subscription service to their proprietary project management system.
I not only contributed to the improvement of the user interface and workflow for key features like the issue ticketing system, ticket metrics, and wiki navigation, but I also worked closely with the president of the company, Andy Singleton, to develop a better marketing strategy for the site's sales related pages. The changes I helped implement have led to increased revenue for Assembla.

InnerCalm User Interface Redesign
The Alturn Solutions team had built the InnerCalm application for psychiatric doctors to interact with and track the progress of their patients, but wanted to improve upon the user interface.
My design created a more inviting user interface. I chose a calming palette of blue and green colors, made better use of white space to open up the design, and standardized various visual elements across the application to help improve usability and recognition.
Additionally, after completion of the design process, I applied the new look to the Rails views using Haml and Sass.

AnythingButiPod Site Overhaul
This project consisted of three separate segments: 1) Create a new professional-looking design and logo 2) Apply the design to templates for the Moveable Type and vBulletin installations and 3) Program a custom comparision application.
The custom Ruby on Rails-based comparison database allows users to browse through and search hundreds of personal media players and compare them side-by-side.
